Adventure is out there
Come travel with me while I learn to explore this world we have! Mostly alone so look for those tips

Jersey Pride and Concert (Solo)
I went to my first big event all on my own and I had a blast! I definitely had some tricks that I appreciated and some things I wish I had done. Now if you like festivals it might be an overwhelming idea to go alone, but fear not! It can be such a fun day.
Tips to help:
-
Research the event before
-
I went to this area for a concert but learned that they were having their annual pride. I made the whole day something to look forward instead of just showing up for my event and then leaving.
-
-
Take whatever pamphlets or brochures they offer
-
I learned more about what was happening day of by using this that I couldn't find on the website. Also no one will care if you stand to the side reading it. (I used to worry that people would think I was lame)
-
-
Bring something to help if you get overwhelmed or overstimulated or make a plan to diffuse that
-
Being in big crowds for a long time stress me out. So I made sure to bring my charged headphones which came in really handy. When I wasn't near any music, I could just play my own jams and walk around. (Also bring an extra charger)
-
I also made a little getaway plan between the festival and concert to sit alone in my car to recharge my social battery
-
-
BRING SNACKS AND WATER IF YOU CAN
-
Food at these places can be expensive, in addition sometimes you don't want to wait on line for a $12 hot dog and a $8 bottle of water. Now you can't do this all the time but if you can i highly suggest it
-
-
Don't be afraid to talk to new people (this is hard for me too)
-
Now this might not be everyone's cup of tea (it certainly isn't mine) but if you're okay to do it, you'll be surprised at the cool new people you'll meet!

Book Date Day in the City
I recently had a cute date day with a friend in the city and it was such a fun day! We both really love reading so I had based the day around that.
Tips to help:
-
Find places to go before hand
-
Although I do like spontaneous days in the city, this was a day that I didn't really want to leave up to chance. So I had marked all the different places that we might like to go to on the map. It didn't mean we HAD to go to all of the places, but they were options!

-
WEAR COMFORTABLE/ WEATHER APPROPRIATE CLOTHING
-
This is pretty self explanatory, but always try to be reasonable when picking out your clothes. I knew I was going to take pictures, so I brought cute shoes with me but they were impractical to walk around in, so I made sure to bring comfortable shoes along with me to change into.
-
It's also helpful to keep an eye on the weather leading up to and during your trip especially if it involves being outside
-
-
It's okay for plans to change
-
Although laying out plans is helpful, be okay if something changes last minute, be flexible. Our plans had changed last minute so I just went with it instead of getting upset over not following the schedule. It's no fun if you make the rest of your party miserable

-
Choose your price range
-
The city can be really expensive, so while I was making plans I made sure to find things at different price points. Who want to blow all their money in one spot when there's so much to see??
